A shaded pole fan is a type of low-power, single-phase AC fan that uses a shaded-pole motor to operate. This motor is simple, inexpensive, and self-starting. Making it ideal for applications like refrigerator cooling fans, small pumps, and ventilation fans. It works by using a copper ring around a portion of each pole. On the stator to create a rotating magnetic field that starts the rotor turning.
