Bosch Dishwasher Reed Flow Switch
A Bosch dishwasher reed flow switch (part of the flowmeter assembly) measures the amount of water entering the machine. As water flows, it spins a magnetic propeller. The reed switch counts these rotations, allowing the control board to regulate water levels and trigger the E14 or E15 error codes if the flow is fault.
The reed flow switch sits on the water inlet and side air break chamber. Its primary functions include:
- Regulating Water Intake: By measuring the pulses from the rotating magnet, the control board calculates the exact volume of water needed for the wash cycle, preventing overfilling.
- Cycle Management: It tells the brain of the dishwasher exactly when to stop filling and start washing.Â
- Error Prevention: If the reed switch is damaged or fails, the dishwasher will likely stop mid-cycle and flash an E14 error code (meaning no water is being detected entering the machine).
