When the fuse fails, power is interrupted to the controls of the microwave and it will become nonfunctional. The ceramic fuse is located inside of the cabinet near the entry point of the power cord.

Test the fuse: Remove the fuse from its holder, which may involve unscrewing it or unclipping it.
- Use a multimeter: Set the multimeter to the ohms (Ωcap omegaΩ) setting.
- Touch one probe to each end of the fuse.
- A reading of zero ohms means there is continuity and the fuse is good. A reading of infinity (or a non-moving needle) means the fuse is blown and needs replacement.
