Composition: An alloy of copper and zinc.

Strength: Stronger and stiffer than pure copper or zinc.

Color: Ranges from reddish-brown to gold-like, depending on the zinc content.

Workability: Can be soft and malleable or harder and stronger, depending on the zinc-to-copper ratio.

Other properties: Corrosion-resistant and low metal-to-metal friction
