Allair Low Pressure Control Auto
Low-pressure switches, on the other hand, are designed to protect your AC unit from low pressures. The switch will shut off the AC unit if the pressure gets too low.
Low-pressure controls can be used to. Directly control a case’s temperature by cycling a compressor on and off. At the required coil temperatures; on medium-temperature equipment, this will also provide a means of defrosting the evaporator; Cycle a compressor on and off when used on a pump down system.
Compressor Protection. Shuts off the compressor if refrigerant levels drop too low, preventing catastrophic failure from running without proper lubrication or pressure.
Temperature Control. Cycles the compressor to maintain specific coil temperatures, essential for cooling and sometimes initiating defrost cycles.
Automatic Pump-Down: In systems with a liquid line solenoid, it stops the compressor when the solenoid closes (e.g., thermostat satisfied), pumping refrigerant to the high side and preventing liquid floodback.
