The AEG Pressure Cooker Lid Sealing Ring is a flexible food-grade silicone or rubber gasket that fits inside the rim of the lid on compatible AEG models (such as the EPC6000 and EEP2550). Its primary function is to creat an airtight, leak-proof seal between the lid and the inner coking pot.Â
What It Is Used For
- Pressure Build-Up: Traps steam inside the cooker so high pressure can safely accumulate to cook food faster.
- Heat Retention: Locks in heat and moisture for efficient and even cooking.
- Safety Control: Prevents dangerous steam leaks around the lid joint, ensuring the cooker reaches and maintains correct operational pressure levels.
Maintenance and Replacement
- Cleaning: Must be removed and washed regularly to prevent food residue and odor build-up.
- Replacement Signs: Needs to be swapped out if it becomes stretched, cracked, brittle, hard, or allows steam to escape from the sides during use.
