A heat pump filter drier is a crucial component that protects the system. By removing contaminants like moisture ,dirt and acid from the refrigerant. Unlike a standard AC filter drier, heat pump models are often bi-directional. Meaning they have an internal check valve that allows the filter to function in both heating and cooling modes, as refrigerant flow reverses.

Filtration: A filter drier traps solid particles and debris that could cause damage to the system.

Drying: It contains a desiccant core that absorbs moisture, which is harmful to the system.

Acid removal: Many filter driers are also designed to remove acids that can form, especially after a component failure

Dual flow: Because heat pumps reverse the direction of refrigerant flow for heating and cooling. A special bi-directional filter drier is needed to ensure proper filtration and drying in both modes.
