During the cooling cycle, the timer allows the compressor and fans to run, cooling the appliance’s interior. Moisture in the air condenses and freezes on the cold evaporator coils.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

After approximately 8 hours of compressor operation, the timer temporarily switches off the cooling system and activates a defrost heater or a hot gas system.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The defrost cycle melts the accumulated ice into water, which then drains into a collection pan to evaporate.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
