Four-way reversing valves are used to completely reverse the cycle of one-to-one heat pump systems. Such valves may be used to facilitate using the system for both heating and cooling

Reversing valve with Solenoid 3/8×5/8

Solenoid activation: When a change in mode is needed (e.g., from cooling to heating. The thermostat sends a signal to energize the solenoid valve.

Valve shift: The solenoid’s electromagnetic force moves a pilot valve inside the reversing valve.

Pressure change: This pilot valve shifts the main slide valve by creating a pressure difference on either side of it.

Refrigerant redirection: The movement of the main slide valve redirects the hot gas. From the compressor to either the indoor or outdoor coil, changing the system’s function from heating to cooling, or vice versa.
