Clean the copper: The joint surfaces must be meticulously cleaned of all oil. Grease, and oxides using a wire brush, emery cloth, or solvent.

Prepare your materials: You will need copper pieces. A brazing rod (a silver-alloy filler metal), a torch, and flux (if required by the rod manufacturer).

Choose the right torch: For small jobs, a MAPP gas torch may suffice. However, for larger pipes or stronger joints. An oxy-acetylene torch is recommended because it burns much hotter than a propane or MAPP gas torch
